เกทวาล์ว คือ อะไร ? (What is Gate Valve?) หรือ วาล์วประตูน้ำ คือ วาล์วตัดตอน (ISOLATING VALVE) โดย Gate Valve ทำหน้าที่ ตัดตอน ของเหลว หรือสารไหลต่างๆที่อยู่ภายในท่อ หรือ ภายในระบบ โดยเมื่อต้องการเปิดปิดทางเดินน้ำ หรือ ของเหลวในเส้นท่อ Disk หรือ ลิ้นของเกทวาล์ว (Gate Valve) จะทำหน้าที่เลื่อนลงมาตั้งฉากกับทิศทางการไหลของของเหลว มีลิ้นปิดเหมือนประตูเลื่อนลงปิดการไหลเท่านั้น และเลื่อนลิ้นวาล์วขื้นเมื่อต้องการเปิดทางให้ของเหลวกลับมาไหลผ่านเส้นท่อดังเดิม.

ข้อดีของ เกทวาล์ว  Gate Valve วาล์วประตูน้ำ

  1. ใช้พื้นที่ในการติดตั้งน้อย
  2. ค่าความดันลด (Pressure Drop) คร่อมวาล์วต่ำมากเมื่อวาล์วเปิดเต็มที่ เหมาะสำหรับงานประเภทปิด-เปิด
  3. เหมาะสำหรับรูปแบบการใช้งานแบบ เปิดหรือปิดสนิท

 

เกทวาล์ว  Gate Valve วาล์วประตูน้ำ ไม่เหมาะสำหรับ

  1. เกทวาล์ว  Gate Valve หรือ วาล์วประตูน้ำ ใช้ในการควบคุมการไหลเนื่องจากเปิด-ปิดได้ช้าจึงไม่เกิดการตะบันน้ำ (Hydraulic Ram) ซึ่งเกิดจากการเปลี่ยนแปลง Momentum ของของเหลวอย่างทันทีทันใด และจะส่งผลให้วาล์วพัง ท่อแตก หรือ ข้อต่อหลุดได้
  2. เกทวาล์ว  Gate Valve หรือ วาล์วประตูน้ำ ไม่เหมาะสำหรับการเปิดหรี่ หรือ ชะลอน้ำ หรือการปรับแต่งปริมาณของเหลว
  3. เกทวาล์ว  Gate Valve หรือ วาล์วประตูน้ำ การควบคุมการไหลแบบเปิด-ปิดไม่สุด เพราะสามารถทำให้เกิดเสียดังและเกิดความเสียหาย
  4. เกทวาล์ว  Gate Valve หรือ วาล์วประตูน้ำ ไม่นิยมใช้กับของไหลที่มีสารแขวนลอยเพราะสารแขวนลอยอาจะไปตกอยู่ในร่องวาล์วได้ ทำให้ไม่สามารถปิดวาล์วได้สนิทจริงๆ.
