Types of Filtration Used in Tertiary Treatment:

-Membrane Filtration: Techniques such as microfiltration (MF), ultrafiltration (UF), nanofiltration (NF), and reverse osmosis (RO) involve passing wastewater through semi-permeable membranes to remove a wide range of particles, bacteria, viruses, and dissolved ions.

-Disk and Screen Filters: These are mechanical filters that remove particles from wastewater by passing it through a series of woven screens or stacked disks.

-Biological Filtration: Involves using biofilms grown on media within the filter to degrade organic matter as water passes through.
